Hi, I am going to write about English and me.


First of all, I have never been to foreign country. So, I was very surprised at many students in Sophia having been to foreign country! ( some students have stayed for years!) Contrary to this, I studied English only in school and I didn’t have the class such as we talk with a native speaker of English. I think it was very unlucky. Because of this, I didn’t have a chance to try to speak my English. I wanted to improve my English skill by using it….

I have loved English since I was a child. I couldn’t speak English, but when I heard the way American people speak their language in TV, I was fascinated with its colorful sounds. I think almost all of Japanese usually speak our language in flat sounds. I was surprised that difference. I like the way native speaker of English take some example in conversation like this ;“For example, yellow ,red, pink, red, black,green,any color is OK ! ” When they say that, I think everyone makes their voice up and down. It’s very cheerful. So, I liked to listen to English very much.

I felt very nervous about my English classes in this university at first because I didn’t have confidence in my English ability. And having known that other students have been to (or stayed) foreign country, I became more nervous especially in my speaking class! But now I can think I need not become so nervous at all. I have very nice chances to use my English with friends who are good at speaking English. These days, I feel my pronunciation improving a bit thanks to listen to my classmates’ good English! And students in my department seem to have enthusiasm about improving their English skill. I am very happy to study with such friends. I think it is very wonderful environment for English study. Actually, the homework given by teachers is very heavy, but I have fun in studying English in university.


When I become 3rd grade, I want to study abroad though I haven’t decided where to go yet. It is one of my dreams since I was a child. I am very looking forward to it. But I thought everyone in Sophia can be allowed to study abroad (as an exchange student from Sophia). It turns to be not true! So now, I need to study hard to be admitted by school.

English is my favorite thing. And I am interested in American culture. My image about America is very colorful. Because I haven’t been there and talked with American about their culture, I don’t think how really it is. So I want to talk about it with them when I go abroad. And then, in order to explain about our culture as Japanese too, I am going to study about Japanese culture. In the first place, I think I need to know about Japanese history.


By the way, I found the acquaintance’s blog here the other day! He was a teacher of my juku school when I was in junior high. I haven’t met him recently. So I was very surprised and glad to find it! So I write a comment about his blog in English (though we both Japanese (^0^)!!)


Recently, I have started “mixi”(it is blog system like this!) In mixi, I wrote lot about what I thought and happened to me. And after I wrote, my friends of my high school read it and give me nice comments. Though we can’t meet now, through that blog we can talk as if in high school. And the other day, I taught this blog (totortotorototoro) to friends of high school, and I told them to read it and see my effort and please give me some comment in English!

So my friends read this blog and give me comments “You are having lots of effort! And it was very nice!! ” on mixi blog in Japanese …not on this blog in English. I want them to write comments on this blog!!(^u^) But I wonder it is little strange to ask Japanese. (?u?) So I think I will try to make friends who are not Japanese and ask them comment it.

I vaguely felt a bit easier to write 700words than last week!

I'm going to introduce myself.
My name is Satsuki.

My real name is Mei because my family like "tonari-no-totoro"(by Hayao Miyazaki).



Actually,my birthday is May!(28th)


This year I want to be able to speak and write English well.
And I want to make friends with people from another countries.
Then, I want to know many ideas different from mine.so I will talk with them about various topic,for example,international topic,even love story!


Next,I introduce my favorite things.


I like dogs very much,and I have a labrador dog.

Her name is Layla,deriving from Eric Crupton's song "Layla"(this is also my father's favorit song!)

It is Saturday tomorrow,so I will take a walk with her to mountain.

Actually,the mountain is very close to my house!

It takes about 40seconds from my house to there.

She and I like to go to mountain very much.




My hometown is Yamanashi prefecture.(I commute from Yamanashi)
It is very mountanous and have a big river.I can see mountains anywhere.
But,in Yotsuya There is no mountain near our school.
Though a big city is very useful and there is many places to play,
I like countryside better.I can be very relaxed in countryside.




Yesterday,I watched "Finding Nimo".

I like Disney movie very very very much!!
When I was a child, my dream was to be a singer in Disney movie.
Especially, I love "Little Marmaid". I love the songs and characters in that movie.
I bought a soundtrack CD,and I listen all songs many many times.
Then I learned to sing a song in the movie!!
I feel my developing my ears for English.



It is hard to write 700words...

I'm going to tell about my highschool.

My highschool was surrounded by mountains.And I had gone to the school by train
In train, the view from train was quite different from a view I watch from train now
That view was very beautiful.


In spring, we can watch cherryblossams everywhere.
In summer, we can watch beautiful bright green mountain.
In autumn, we can watch colorful mountain with red and yellow.
In winter, we can watch fantastic white mountains with much snow.


My favorite season is autmn.There is a lot of visiters who want to climb beautiful mountains in the district in which my school is.So, usually there was a lot of tourist in the train.

When Iwas a high school student,I didn't belong any clubs.

I wanted to participate in club,but actually we didn't allowed to do that.

Can you guess why.
I belonged to class which is called super science high school class.
that class is upper class.
And that class is made by japanese government for the purpose of making high school student be interested in science and producing worldwide japanese scientist.
The class is allowed to be taught all subjects freely to study high level content in class.

We had to do many many experiments after school.
We had to listen to the lecture about various subject about science by foreign researcher in English!(It was very technical,so all of us understood what they talk about...)

Actually, I don't like math and science,and I am not good at both.
Of course,I didn't think I want to become scientist.

But I entered the class.To tell the truth,I(we) couldn't help doing so.
That class was made very the year we entered highschool,and we didn't know about starting such class.We know it very next day we entered school.

The teachers said "This is a class which objects to students aiming at high class university.
And it is no problem that student aiming at humanitic department enter this class,rather, come in this class."

Now,I think that message was little different from real situation.
But,we didn't know anything about it at first,so I decided to enter the class because I aimed at high level university.

In the class,to do exxperiments after school, we didn't allowed to belong to any club.
Instead of this,it was duty tobelong to something science club,for example,physics or biology,chemistry clubs.
I belonged to biology club.

I hate these things we were obliged.And we all are always complained about it.

But,I think I could enjoy it thanks to my friends in my class.
Our class didn't have member change for three years.
So,we can stay together for three years.(allmost everyday)Because of this,our friendship had become very very strong and we become almost like real family.
I will keep to get in touch with them as long as I live.

Now,I never think it was mistake to enter the class.
I think it was the most fantastic times in my life and they are the most wonderful classmates in the world.

But...I don't study math any more!...
I want to try hard in studying English ('O')/!!
